Standing Bear PAVL (not exactly how it is spelled. There is no cross line in the A and the P is pointed, not rounded on the top curve, but as close as my keyboard can come.)

Born C 1961 descended from the daghter of a Siksikaitsitapi ( ᖹᐟᒧᐧᒣᑯ - meaning "Blackfoot-speaking real people") Shaman and a French fur trader. His Great Grandmother was known as a great healer.
A craftsman in traditional native and pioneer articles, writer and artist who travels Northeastern, Central and Southwestern United states.

As a child, Standing Bear would visit his God-parents in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where his Godmother was a well known trader of Native American jewelry, pottery, rugs and blankets. He enjoyed talking with the Native craftsmen and women who were more than happy to share their wisdom with an eager young student.

Standing Bear wrote short stories of his adventures, while enduring the solitude of long winter nights of the trapping season. Sometimes while living in a lean-to or small cabins he built along his trap line, and sometimes in his room in the attic/dance hall of a pre-revolutionary war tavern/inn.

Standing Bear attended a northeastern university to study physics and received a degree in computers. He then spent a summer in the Rocky mountains from New Mexico to Montana photographing nature and scenery. Many of his photographs can be found in New England and the Santa Fe, New Mexico area. He has been published in national magazines (under a pseudonym) and continues to write short stories and articles occasionally.

After his photography vacation, Standing Bear spent 25 years working in the corporate world while continuing traditional pursuits. Finally tiring of the rat-race, he turned inward and began a life of spiritual peace and pursuit of happiness. He continues to produce paintings, mostly of a south-western or native nature, but occasionally he surprises his followers with art of a different flavor. Some of his known paintings are shown below. There are some in the hands of collectors who will not share an image, so we know that there are more out there!

Standing Bear also continues to produce exquisite crafts, including knives, stone and wood work and fur items. Nowadays, you may find him camped out in the Sangre De Cristo mountains of northern New Mexico, exploring old gold or silver mines in Colorado, trout fishing the Blue Ribbon streams of the Ozarks or New England, or just watching the sun rise over the Atlantic from Maine's rocky coast.
